Collective Action for Safe Spaces is a Black trans, queer, and non-binary-led organization that uses public education, cultural organizing, coalition-building, and advocacy to build community safety. CASS cultivates the greater DC community’s capacity to respond directly to patriarchal and state violence through transformative justice and abolitionist frameworks.
As apart of the AIGA Create-a-Thon event, CASS was one of the organizations our team had to rebrand. They came across a number of issues with their current brand; one of them being identity issues. They were looking to create one cohesive and consistent voice. They felt what they had did not portray the drive and passion of their members and staff. It was important for them to have a brand they could proudly wave and present when promoting their mission of providing safer spaces for all.
